"I'm glad I went into teaching!"
...our authors write with simplicity, freshness and vigor however scholarly their message may be.

If
what you've read on Pippin's website appeals to you and you think you might like the sort
of books that we publish, why not get in
touch with us to discuss becoming an author? We're always looking for books by and for
teachers and their students that will make the teachers who read them and use them say
"I'm glad I went into teaching!"
Most of our titles are 256 pages or less, and the majority are around 128 pages. We can offer you a range of formats from hard cover students' books to our paperback professional series for teachers, "The Pippin Teacher's Library." Our search at the moment is for books on language & assessment, preferably the acquisition of a second language, and you can either be planning a book intended for student use in the classroom or one that is intended for the teacher's own professional use. Authors often complain, from bitter experience, of the length of time it takes to receive a report from a publisher on a manuscript submission. Although our Editorial Board is international in membership and far-flung-- in Australia, the US, the UK and Canada -- we always try to give authors an answer before natural impatience turns to understandable irritation. We'll be happy to provide you with a set of editorial guidelines when you have decided that Pippin is "right" for your book and we have decided that we can, for both our sakes, do it justice in the marketplace. But, in general terms, while our professional publications may be written by experts, we always strive to avoid heavy, jargon-rich writing, urging our authors to write with simplicity, freshness, vigor & with enthusiasm for their subject, however scholarly their message may be. We'd be delighted to tell you more about ourselves and to find out more about you and your writing plans. Perhaps one day we'll hear from you? |
